Fall Break Career Treks: Exploring Paths in Consulting

Over Fall Break, from October 13th to 17th, members of the UNC Kenan-Flagler Consulting Club hit the road for a series of career treks that took them across Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, and Atlanta. Each trek gave students the chance to step inside top consulting firms, connect with alumni, and get an authentic glimpse into what consulting looks like beyond the classroom.

A Strong Turnout: Over 40 First Year MBA Students Attended Career treks

In Raleigh-Durham, students visited firms like ZS, BCG, and Implement Consulting Group, learning how each team approaches problem-solving and client impact in their own way. Others made their way to Charlotte and Atlanta, where visits to Deloitte and Bain Atlanta provided exposure to the fast-paced world of strategy, operations, and implementation work.

Evenings wrapped up with alumni networking events and happy hours that turned out to be some of the highlights of the week. It was inspiring to see Kenan-Flagler Business School alumni show up to share advice, stories, and encouragement with current students who are just beginning their consulting journeys.

The treks were more than firm visits; they were about connection, curiosity, and seeing firsthand the different ways consultants create impact. In Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, and Atlanta, one thing was clear: the KFBS Consulting community runs deep, and our alumni continue to ensure the next generation of Tar Heels is ready to create impact.
